Cambridgeshire might not be one of the biggest counties but it certainly packs plenty of punch in terms of culture, history and countryside. So much so that this once industrial area has been designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty and has also been recommended as an excellent place to visit by the likes of Lonely Planet and The Telegraph, respectively. Located in the eastern part of England, Cambridgeshire is one of the most beautiful counties in the country. The county has an area of 3,144 square miles and borders Essex to the east, Suffolk to the south, Norfolk to the north and Lincolnshire to the west. This county has an estimated population of 726,900, which makes it one of the most-populous in England. The city of Cambridge serves as its capital while other cities in Cambridgeshire are Peterborough and Ely.
