The Isle of Wight is an island off the south coast of England with an area of about 600 square kilometres, it has a population of around 145,000, and it has 64 villages and 12 towns. The capital city of the Isle of Wight is Newport, which covers about one-third of the island’s total area. Although the Isle of Wight is technically considered part of the United Kingdom, it’s not actually included in the home nations (which are Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales).
